Thursday Randoms

-First of all, thank you so much for the sweetest comments on our engagement photos.  You all have put a smile on my face.  I placed an order on Pictage last night for some large black and white prints.
I want to create a gallery wall like this:

or propped up frames ...kind of like this:
photos via pinterest

The frames shown above are from Pottery Barn.  I almost ordered a couple last night, but then realized that they are made with a plexi-glass front!  Seriously PB?  How can you put plexi-glass in a $70 frame? smh.

- I can't believe Ann Curry has been given the boot from Today!  She is such a classy woman.  I've met her twice and was thoroughly impressed at how kind and attentive she was to me.  Maybe that's her problem... do you think she was too nice as a host?  Apparently, the ratings plummeted when she took over for Meredith Vieira.

-As if my love for red velvet cake and cheesecake couldn't get any stronger, I bring you...
Red Velvet Cheesecake

- The day has come...  I finally am enjoying a song by The Beibs.  I may retract this statement as early as next week, but "Boyfriend" is a pretty catchy song, no?

-What do you all think about the rumors that Chris Harrison and Bachelorette Emily are dating?  Silly? Believable?
I seriously doubt it's true, but wouldn't it make this season a lot more interesting? :)

-Question for all of you married women...
What is the one thing you wish you would've put on your wedding registry?  Or... What is your favorite thing you put on your registry?

-How pretty is this hair?  I love the blonde ombre and only wish I had the guts to do it.

That's all I've got for today.  Happy Thursday!

  1. I think it could be true about Emily and Chris because she doesn't have much to choose from on her season!

That red velvet cheesecake looks just mouthwatering. I got married in January and my cake was red velvet!

  2. Emily and Chris?! Seriously? Haven't heard this rumor...
And you have me wanting some red-velvet cheesecake like yesterday! YUM!
    Love this post, Hun!
    Have a wonderful day.

  3. My absolute favorite wedding gift was my kitchenaid stand mixer. I use it all the time! We also registered for a really nice set of stainless pots and pans. We didn't get them, but we got enough gift cards to buy them! Worth every penny to get stainless over nonstick.

I am planning on ordering this frames for my room. I haven't seen them in person but I have heard good things about them and very similar to the PB ones.

  6. Be careful if you "register" with Anthropologie. They do not mark the items off of your list even though there is a line item for "received." Just went to a bridal shower where the bride got the same gift FIVE times over due to their registry problems! Of course she will return/exchange, but that's a hassle. Good luck with your registries!

  7. I am so glad we registered for a panini press, sounds silly but we LOVE it. Also monogrammed seamless wine glasses, love them!

  8. Gorgeous PLAIN WHITE china... After 21 years of marriage, I wish mine was plain white! White make food look better and never competes for attention :)

  9. Le Creuset or a nice set of pots and pans. With two kids, buying expensive cookware just doesn't make sense anymore.

  10. I don't know about Chris and Emily... she seems to be smitten with Arie. But... stranger things have happened on that show! haha. And that Red Velvet Cheesecake looks absolutely divine!

  11. They were talking all about the Emily/Chris rumor today on my drive to work on the car radio!!!! I don't believe it for a second..He's MARRIED!!! Has been for a super long time!

I'm curious to see what others say they wish they had put on their registry so I will have to check back to your comments!!!

And while that hair is pretty, just remember there are a MILLION other girls out there that wish they were blonde! TRUST ME! :)

  12. Holy crapola. The only two deserts I eat all in one slice of heavenly goodness? I must try.

And I turn my nose up to that Bachelor drama. I feel like there just isn't enough dirt on Emily so they had to make up some bs

  17. Hello. LOVE your engagement photos!

That red velvet cheesecake looks dangerous and amazing.

I've been married for about a year and am really loving our Calphalon pots and pans and our everyday dishes from Crate and Barrel, so nice to have some nice, new sets of things instead of our random collection of hand-me-downs, etc.

Also, advice on doing the gallery wall, there are tutorials online but it makes it SO much easier to map it out on a big piece of paper, tape it to the wall and drive the nails in, so everything is spaced just the way you want it. This is coming from experience after working on mine for about 3 hours one day. :)

  19. Hello,

LOVE your engagement photos! Also that red velvet cheesecake looks dangerous and amazing.

I have been married just over a year and am loving our Calphalon pots and pans and our everyday dishes from Crate & Barrel. It is so nice to have new sets of things instead of hand-me-downs, etc.

Also a word of advice on the gallery wall, (after spending 3 hours on mine one day) there are tutorials online, and I highly recommend using a big sheet of paper on the floor, tracing the frames, taping it up and driving the nails in, it makes it so much easier to get everything spaced the way you like.

    Love your blog!

  20. If I could do my registry over... I'd really take time to pick a pattern I liked of serving dishes/bowls. Not my everyday or fine china- but the other stuff. I liked everything and wasn't specific.... and now I have a hodge-podge and wish they went together better. I'd trade it all in for a complete set of Beatriz Ball's vento! But, that's just me!

  21. I'm a long time reader but rarely comment :)

I suggest you register for a lot of entertaining peices! You can seriously never have too much. I wish I would have registered for more.

I just did a post on our most used/favorite wedding registery gifts, so check out my blog and you'll see what our must have's are! :)
